Antonio Basilico

Antonio Basilico
Antonio BasilicoMaster Barber
Taught by his father, an “old-school” Italian barber, Antonio (Tony) started in the industry at an age where he needed to stand on a box to help out in his father’s barber shop – and did his first haircut at the age of 12.

Since those early days, he has received some more “formal” qualifications in hairdressing, barbering and teaching, as well as participated in a plethora of courses run by high profile and celebrity hairdressers here and in the U.S.

In addition to working in some of Sydney and Canberra’s top salons (including one of Australia’s most awarded salons – Cataldo’s), he has run his own successful salon since 2001.  Tony prides himself on combining old school barbering techniques and longer hair cutting skills to provide the best results for both men and women in a contemporary salon environment.

He is inspired by his father’s words to him to always teach others and pass on skills that he had taught him.  He shares the aim of Elite Hair Education to inspire confidence in apprentices and stylists and raise the technical standard of hairdressing in this country.
